Hythe Aqua (formerly Hythe Swimming Club) is based at the South Road swimming pool in Hythe and has been established since 1975. Hythe Aqua has over 500 members, with the majority under 16 years of age.

We are a voluntary organisation and although all our 40+ Teachers and Coaches are qualified, they all give all their time free to the Club. This results in our fees being kept to a minimum and helps to encourage membership from all sections of the community. At Hythe we aim to attract members from the 5 years of age to much older participating in a healthy lifestyle of fitness training within a friendly but competitive environment.

Hythe Aqua is a competitive club and membership of one of competitive sections will lead to swimming in galas, playing Water polo matches, participating in synchronised swimming competitions and taking part in Masters Competitions. If you join one of the competitive sections, you will be expected to compete for the Club in the competitions and championships chosen by the Coaches.

The club is growing and we are always on the lookout for new members and coaching staff; So if you live in the Shepway area lease contact us. The club actively encourages interested parents to obtain both teaching and ASA official's qualifications and in many cases can help fund the necessary training. - Contact us

Hythe Aqua Championships 2019 Results

Well done to all those swimmers that took part in this year’s Club Swimming Championships. We were very pleased to have a good number of entries from the Swim School swimmers, who did very well, some of them winning age group medals.

Over 220 new personal best times were recorded during the revised Club Championship programme, which this year was swum over five nights incorporating 200m events on the Club Nights.

A big thank you to all our club officials and guest officials and to all those parents that volunteered to help. Without your assistance, it would not be possible to run the championships.

Well Done Toby
June 09 2019
Toby Yemm a Hythe Aqua Club Squad Swimmer was the youngest competitor at HYTHE Bay Tri on Sunday 19th May 2019 and took 3rd place overall
(1st in his age group U20 and 4th overall in the swim) A great result considering he has completed very little training so far this years due to GCSE studies.
He also Toby won his age group and was 9th overall at Cranbrook Sprint Tri on Sunday 2nd June. The day before he had competed in Cambridge at the UCI Grand Fondo World Series (bike time trial) so had very tired legs!

THANET FESTIVE GALA 2018

THANET FESTIVE GALA 2018 – 15th & 16th December 2018

Well done to the Hythe Aqua swimmers that competed at the Thanet Festival Gala last weekend.

Overall some good results and PB's but it was against some very tough competition. Despite being very, very long days and a long journey home, Team Thanet made it as festive as they could with hot heat prizes and a chocolate selection box for every swimmer, plus Santa and lots of raffles and prize draws.

Thank you, to all the Hythe Aqua swimmers and parents for taking part so close to Christmas and to Ian Goldsmith and Kathryn Lambert for being our officials. They had to stay right to the very end of each session when their children had finished hours before..

ASHFORD DEVELOPMENT GALA

ASHFORD DEVELOPMENT GALA
HYTHE AQUA HIT THEIR BEST TIMES AT GALA
On Saturday 27th October Hythe Aqua participated in the 2018 Ashford Development Gala. Hythe were in lane 5 and maybe it was their lucky lane as they got 36 personal bests and 3 speeding tickets, all by Katie Oliver. Considering Hythe Aqua had only 15 swimmers they still covered most races though and won a fair few. Lots of swimmers had to swim up age groups and had lots of races. Winners were Mackenzie Lambert, Harry Oakes, Leon Santer, Libby MacArthur (2) Tristan Parmenter (3), 15/U Free and Medley Team (Libby, Tristan, Ellis, Leon)
Thank you to the swimmers and also to the club helpers on poolside, thank you Helen, Aly, Wendy, Carly, Kathryn and Paul for helping out at the Gala and doing all the jobs in their own time.

Faversham Ladies v Hythe Ladies Friendly Faversham Ladies v Hythe Ladies Friendly

Faversham arrived with 4 international players, 3 Japanese ladies and a Scottish International but this did not deter the Hythe Ladies from pulling together and battling hard for the four quarters. The score line does not reflect the way the Hythe Ladies played, they all played with determination, game awareness and vision.
