Hythe Aqua and Folkestone Sports Centre Swimming Club have been involved in a local initiative with the District Council associated with having a District Team swim in some competitions.
For the past 40 years Shepway has had two strong swimming clubs
Both clubs take swimmers from teaching to swim through to masters
We support currently, or have previously, multiple disciplines including: Competitive swimming, Synchronised swimming, Water Polo, Life Saving, Masters, Open water swimming Even diving!
Shepway is a relatively small area to draw swimmers from and half of our catchment area is the English Channel!
However each club, and their respective swimmers, have been successful often to very high standards both in the past and currently
Well done to Shepway B team who, despite a gallant effort came 5th in the Arena league 3rd round at Medway Park Sports Centre. The team narrowly missed out on 4th by only 6 points and was third for much of the evening. Everyone swam their best and had a whale of a time.
A broad age group of Hythe Aqua swimmers representing Shepway Swimming Club recently competed at the London Aquatic Centre, some for the first time in a long course gala and in the Olympic Pool. Hythe Aqua swimmers swam incredibly well and gave 100% in all their events.
